I’m a sociologist-turned-author who loves writing the kind of books I’ve always enjoyed reading: stories that combine a realistic narrative with a touch of fantasy. Books such as “Like Water for Chocolate” and Jane Odiwe’s “Project Darcy” are examples of this and are among my favorites in the way they add spark to an otherwise commonplace storyline. 

I’m also a huge fan of Jane Austen and Austen fan fiction, testimony to my appreciation for a bit of romance. In my soon-to-be-published novel “Beyond the Dollhouse: Along the Fairy Path,” I became so enamored with a minor character that I finally said “yes” when he insisted on playing the role of the story’s romantic leading man. He’s become my personal modern-day version of Austen’s Mr. Darcy.
